This blog was created to post information we don't have time to discuss on Sundays, but is still great for everyone to know. So, if you have something you need, something you need to sell, a good deal you know of, or anything else you'd like the rest of the Sisters to know, e-mail Kera at keralea@hotmail.com to have it posted.

Families in Need of Warm Clothes

Hey Ladies,

If anyone was planning on making a recent trip to Goodwill to drop some old winter clothes off, Tara Lennox would love to take them off your hands. She works at a clinic up in Woodburn, and works with a lot of families (men, women, and children) that are in need of some warm clothes this winter. You can e-mail her at ttlenox@msn.com to make arrangements to drop clothes off.

Thanks for all your generosity! I know how well everyone does at rising to the occasion :)

Items Left at Church

There are a few dishes without names left from the funeral dinner for Terry Morrison's family. They are in the kitchen at the Brush Hills Building.

Please contact Ileana if you are missing something.

Missing From Church

There is a purple plastic basket full of white baptismal jumpsuits missing from the closet area of our stake center.

If you know where it might be, please contact Ileana Carlile - ileanais@gmail.com or 503-375-2146.

Free Stuff

Someone in the ward has a pair of women's size 5 Vasque waterproof hiking boots. Barely used. "Free to a good home."

Singing in the Rain

... Yeah right. Rain at this time of the season can be so depressing, because we know it's going to be here for a long while! I googled "how to stay positive," and I summarized a little list of what we can do to keep positive without our BFF, the SUN.

1. Make lemonade! Yes, really. The smell of fresh citrus fruits often gives a boost to chemicals in your brain, making you feel happier :)

2. Start a new exercise such as Yoga or
Tai Chi.

3. Go play in the kids toy section at your local Walmart. Pick up a bright bouncy ball or other fun toy.

4. Take photographs. Go find beauty in the land around you and take some great snapshots. Decorate your walls with them!

5. Listen to upbeat music

6. Google "Positive Quotations" Example:
"There are always flowers for those who want to see them."
- Henry Matisse

7. Meditate. Through research we have learned that our brain changes when we practice meditation. Meditation helps combat stress, improves physical health, makes you sleep better, feel happier and feel more at peace with yourself.

8. Read a great book! May I recommend "Leadership & Self-Deception," it's an amazing read, and will change your outlook on those around you.

Hope everyone is able to stay positive in this dark, dark world we are plunging into! If anyone has any other tips, let me know, and I will post them. We need all the help we can get!
